This climbling plant winds itself around trees and shrubs, reaching up to 2m.
In June and July, the alpine clematis bears blue-white flowers, measuring 4 – 6cm. As it scrambles through other bushes, this plant is often overlooked. Along the footpath from Zernez to Cluozza (route 7) it occurs in a number of places.
